Sirenhead is a disturbing Killer

An earlier entry I wrote of Creepypasta and it’s role in creating new urban legends. Before the Internet, stories were repeated as a friend of a friend format. Haunted tales. Horror stories told at slumber parties and camping trips.

Then Slenderman was created. A tall being with a featureless white face and a black suit. He stalked and haunted children.

Suddenly he showed up everywhere with “photographic proof” and stories of children vanishing. Stories, fanart, youtube videos.

The horror icon of the Internet age.

He entered our pop media and became a cryptid celebrity. Fan Art, “true stories” and You Tube entries launched him to success.

Until 2014 when two stupid delusional girls believed the stories and trying to get in Slenderman’s good graces tried to murder a friend.

Slenderman dropped overnight out of favor. A horror movie came out and was a flop. Slenderman was no longer of interest.

But other created cryptids are filling the gap he left. Fans eagerly looked for the next urban legend horror character. One of the most popular is Sirenhead. Still relatively unknown he is gaining ground because of the vids produced of him.

He did not originate from Creepypasta but is the creation of the artist Trevor Henderson. The artist has created other works such as Long Horse and Cartoon Cat. But he specializes with portrayals of huge creepy giant beings and Siren head is his most well known. Take a good look at him.

Sirenhead is an enormous being up to forty feet although he can reduce his size. The creature appears skeletal and made of knotted dead wood with long limbs. Although skeletal he is extremely strong and fast and can outrun a car.

He can be in plain sight, disguising himself among electrical and telephone lines.

Sirenhead is a mostly rural cryptid and hides in abandoned buildings or in the woods as he can blend in with the tall trees. This was in the camera of a missing hiker. You guessed it. A Final Photo.

His striking feature is his head. Two sirens resembling public alert sirens in cities and towns. He can repeat Public Service announcements, weather, and news reports Sirenhead will mimic human voices to lure humans and has a warbling wail while hunting. He has sharp teeth inside each siren. He is a killer, and his prey is often humans.

Very little is known of him. Nocturnal or daytime? Solitary or in groups? Any known footage falls into the final photo category

A similar unknown is Lamphead. His face is a streetlamp. He can go into urban areas and hunt at night. He will hide in plain sight because who really looks at the streetlights.

The artwork is produced by Trevor Henderson although fanart is showing up of Sirenhead.

Videos of Sirenhead are out on YouTube. But I hesitate to link fan videos. Shutter Authority and Bradlen Williams have produced excellent horror short films.

Papa Jake produced my favorite vid. It is sixteen minutes long. I thought about it but decided no. But it is so convincing you end up thinking it might actually be…
