Monster Snakes- How Big are they?

Last updated on November 11th, 2023 at 09:20 am

Interest in Giant snakes are rising. We have a fascination and fear of large snakes. “Anaconda” in 1997 was a surprise summer hit and started a trend of monster snake movies. Reptile pets are becoming mainstream and more popular than ever.

Which one  is the biggest snake in the world?

The Anaconda is a massive snake. He is unmatched in terms of weight and crushing power. The largest snake  went up to 1000 lbs and 25 feet in length.

The Reticulated Python is the longest recorded snake measuring up to 30 feet long. The photos of four or five people holding out a snake is usually a Reticulated python.

A 17-foot-long female python, the largest ever captured at Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida’s Everglades, took four people to hold it

The biggest snake ever is the prehistoric Titanoboa. The largest skeleton, found in Colombia in year 2009, set the snake at 2500 lbs. and at 48 feet. -the longest ever. The discovery of this incredible snake made scientific headlines around the world.

A recreated Titanoboa is on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

But what of the photos of monstrous huge snakes. They are somewhat believable because snakes do get huge. The website Snopes has several recorded photos of snakes.

But the photos posted here are the known fakes.

This is quite impressive. But fake it is.

The Amazon river is in Africa?? If you are going to fake something, get the facts straight

Grammar is still important. Come up with something better than “To get it killed.”

Second, people skilled in Photoshop say the snake’s backline is blurred to cover the bad photoshop line. The people in the background are also out of focus. And for the creature taking so much firepower to kill, it shows little body trauma.

This shocking photo came out in July 2005. In western Australia’s Kanijini National Park. A huge snake was seen dragging a cow out of the water. But animal people said it did not look like a cow, so it became a kangaroo. Nope. It was an olive python dragging up a rock wallaby. Most impressive but not a monster photo.

These are the Borneo snake photos. They were filmed on the Baleh River in Borneo in January 2009. But some viewers say they came out earlier in 2007.

The second photo was discounted as a stick thrown into the river. Snakes do not float and was discredited.

The first was more debatable. The water was too murky for it to be seen that clearly and if it was on top of the waves it would be creating bigger bow waves. It was hotly contested.

Then this photo from Photobucket. This one still had the Worth 1000 logo in the corner.  Some people try to be clever when they steal a photo and crop out the logo. But this one was entire. We found absolute proof. Took some searching but we found him. The artist is “grafx311” from Worth 1000’s “Cryptzoo”. And it actually is the Zaire River, of Congo ,Africa

These two photos are faked. The snakes are real but nothing else—The people and trucks are toys. These are so badly done they are a step above Legos. But people thought they were real.

This is faked as well. Or else the father has a shocking lack of concern for his kids.

This one was so badly done this guy did not even bother to find a python or anaconda photo. Just grabbed a rattlesnake pic. Damn, at least try.

Some attempts at photoshopping are poor attempts indeed.

Ending this post about giant snakes with guess what??

Another Discovery Special!!

This is just too good not to include. The concept is stunning and idiotic.

December 2014 aired “Eaten Alive” about giant snakes. This “researcher” called Paul Rosolie wanted an anaconda to eat him alive and force the snake to regurgitate him. He planned to hunt down a legendary huge reptile called Chumana in a remote forest in Peru. He created a wetsuit of chain mail, helmet for oxygen and doused himself with pigs’ blood. This fool was now all set with his camera crew and 10 team members.

Now he had to find this snake. This creature had no record of harming anyone and seemed content to be alone in his habitat. But Rosolie wanted this snake to eat him so off he goes, craving his few minutes of fame.

Well they never found Chumana, so they used a female already in captivity. And as much as Rosolie harassed this poor creature, she did not eat him. She really did try because this moron truly pissed her off. She hung onto him for an hour before he was rescued.

Rosolie said he did this stunt to draw attention to the conservation of Amazon wildlife. So, he still lives, off to plan another stupid, attention getting stunt. Hopefully he won’t involve any more animals.

On a fun note, did you watch Primeval? It featured time travel through sparkly vortexes. It was a whacky fun series and always had a dinosaur or Ice Age Animal. This is the scene of the Titanoboa.
